blonding

How much does it cost to go blonde, and how long does it take?

Balayage and airtouch start at $150 for partial highlights, and from $280 for a full airtouch or foilayage, before 5% GST. What moves you within that range is your length, your density, and how far you're going from your natural colour. A full quote only comes after I've actually seen your hair, not from a photo over Instagram DM.

An appointment usually starts at around four hours for partial work, and a full airtouch or foilayage runs longer, five to seven hours once you include toning and a blowout. How many appointments it takes to get you there depends on where you're starting. One session is often enough if you already have some natural lift or previous highlights in your hair. Starting from a dark natural colour or hair with old box dye in it usually takes two to three sessions, spaced a few weeks apart so your hair has time to recover in between.

The full breakdown of the technique, the process, and where the price actually goes is on the blonding page.

Where I say no

I won't quote you a single flat price before I've seen your hair, and I won't take you all the way blonde in one visit if a strand test says your hair can't hold that much lightening yet. If that's your starting point, I'll tell you honestly what today can safely get you, and what needs to wait for a second appointment.
